Employment and Social Development Minister Jason Kenney declared during a speech at Willis College that career colleges are considered unsung heroes in the educational system within Canada. Kenney states that private career colleges provide an excellent service to the community as they train students to specific real world jobs.

Kenney declares that employers have stated that their number one challenge is the shortage of skilled workers in certain sectors due to mismatched skills. He emphasizes the need for career colleges to continue to provide training the community to solve these labour shortages.

Furthermore, Keeney applauds relationships between private career colleges and private sector companies. He states that employers and colleges that support the development of marginalized groups of Canadians are empowering the community.

"it is so fantastic to see a private sector partnership between a cutting edge employer and a successful private career college solving problems" - Jason Kenney

Keeney says “it is so fantastic to see a private sector partnership between a cutting edge employer and a successful private career college solving problems, taking Canadians who are unemployed or underemployed providing them with relevant skills training in a timely way, that leads to directly to a first rate job, that’s about as good as it gets”

North American Trade Schools has relationships with many employers who are looking to fill their labour gap with graduates. As a result of this, graduates of the various trades programs have had an inside edge in obtaining gainful and related employment after completing their program.
